Editorial Analysis
Why This Matters
The security measures affected public transport, mobile internet access and road travel, making advance planning important for commuters and railway passengers.
Delhi Police had denied permission for the proposed CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, citing public safety, law-and-order concerns and non-compliance with prescribed procedures. Despite the denial, authorities maintained heightened security in central Delhi and issued advisories warning commuters of possible traffic congestion and diversions.
The restrictions affected commuters and travellers using metro services, railway stations and roads in the capital. People travelling through the affected areas were advised to allow additional time for their journeys and follow official transport and traffic updates.
