Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday announced a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners.
Following the increase, the DA and DR rate will rise to 44%. The revised rates will be effective from October 1, 2026.

The Chief Minister said the DA and DR revision would involve an additional annual expenditure of around ₹300 crore for the state government. He also said the gap between the DA and DR rates applicable to Tripura government employees and pensioners and those of Central Government employees would be reduced to 16 percentage points.
The state government has also approved an increase in House Rent Allowance (HRA) for regular government employees. The HRA rate will rise from 8% to 10% of basic pay from October 1, 2026.
The monthly ceiling for HRA will also increase from ₹3,000 to ₹10,000.
