Uttarakhand Police have registered an FIR against unidentified persons over an alleged ‘purification’ ritual at Ramlila Maidan in Haldwani, where Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge addressed a public meeting on August 8.
The FIR was registered at Haldwani Kotwali on the complaint of local social activist and lawyer Anju. Police said they had received around 80 complaints and petitions from different organisations, political parties and individuals concerning the incident.
