Bengaluru Police have registered a Zero First Information Report (FIR) against Uttarakhand BJP chief Mahendra Bhatt and other party members over an alleged “purification” ritual at the Ramlila Ground in Haldwani following a public rally addressed by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.
The FIR was registered at the Vidhana Soudha Police Station in Bengaluru following a complaint filed by T R Ramappa, associated with the Congress’s Adivasi wing. The complaint alleges that a “Shuddhikaran” ritual was conducted at the venue after Kharge addressed a rally there on August 8.
